For the last twenty years, Colin Griffith has been the leading Australian technology expert regarding innovative internet and electronic services.
As a senior executive with the NSW Government Chief Information Office, Colin was responsible for promoting broadband and new forms of service delivery for the health and education sector. He also was instrumental in the construction of a state-wide fibre optic network for major hospitals, schools and other government facilities and the development of open government policies and initiatives to improve access to public sector data. Colin was also responsible for establishing the popular and awarding winning ABC Online and managed the ABC’s new media service during the 1990’s.
Currently, Colin is the Director of the Australian Centre for Innovation (ACBI), a collaborative research initiative led by CSIRO in partnership with NICTA, Australia’s two leading Information and Communications Technology research organisations. In this capacity, he has access to a broad and diverse set of research capabilities that allow him to demonstrate, develop and evaluate innovative new services and applications that are enabled by next generation broadband networks.
